Reviews of 武大郎老火锅 WU DA LANG OLD HOT POT
Located just a short stroll from Chinatown Station, Wu Da Lang Hotpot is a haven for hot pot enthusiasts, especially those who adore fresh frog legs.
Frog Legs Worth the Hype
The frog legs here are unparalleled – fresh, tender, clean, and incredibly succulent. If you're a fan or even just curious, this is the place to try them.
Broth and Ingredients – Top Notch
The twin pot is a must-order. I opted for the mala broth and the golden broth—both were packed with flavor and showcased the quality of their ingredients. The mala had the perfect level of spice, while the golden broth was rich and comforting.
Freshness is key here, and it shows. Highly recommended dishes include the prawn paste with fish roe and the hanging beef, which were simply exquisite.
Exceptional Service
Service was exceptional, with staff like Ah Hui going above and beyond. The boss is also welcoming and adds to the restaurant’s charm, ensuring guests have a memorable experience.
Atmosphere and Branding
The vibes are fantastic, with thoughtful branding and a cozy atmosphere that enhances the dining experience.
I’ll definitely be back again! This spot is not just a meal—it’s an experience. And...try their brown sugar rice cakes, it's in their dessert list. Happy endings.
Didnt opt for the buffet , which most reviews here are based on. Mala pot taste below average but price above average compared to other similar restaurants in this area. Service is quick though. Not likely to return, there are plenty other better options in Chinatown.

FOOD and SERVICE is GOOD!!! 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
we always come here every time we want to treat ourselves with an authentic mah-lah food! we never tried the steamboat but it seems like they are more famous with that, as most of the customers are having steamboat.
anyways, the food is really good! the saltiness of the food and the amount of peppercorns are juuusssttt nice! its on the higher side but its all worth it! 😊👍🏻
the price is on the high side.. specially for 2 persons but the serving is quite a lot as well! we always couldn’t finish...
I’m scoring 4 in total coz, mah-lah taste is not for everyone and because we always go home smelly. (with all the steamboat smell from across the table)
Environment: 4/5
Waiting: 5/5
Taste: 5/5
Price: 3/5
Service: 4/5
What I liked:
- authenticity of the Sichuan cuisine ( mah-lah is sooo good)! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
What I disliked:
- after smell of my entire body.... smells like food from the steamboat
Good food, clean environment and soup is nice. Hard to find parking during peak hours. Service is generally alright. Had a pleasant time eating with a small group of friends. The in-house sauces are great as well.
Good place. Good environment. It really is a buffet steamboat with no limit to how many times you want to order. only limited by your stomach! Dont drink too much milk tea or you will eat less...
A nice boss, with great staffs here... foods served fast, and will try other dishes in next time
Authentic Sichuan Mala Hotpot, buffet styled. Take the Mala (Literally Spicy and Numb) soup based if you can
Came for the milk tea buffet. It was delicious.
Hotpot was good, eat until very full
Cheap and good. But don't order the fish maw, it's not the deep fried kind 😅
Went there with my family. We ordered the fish head and frog set ($32) on top of the buffet. The frog is very tender! The meat and vege were fresh! Must try their 冰火两重天, it's like the Chinese version of brownie and ice cream! I enjoyed reading the "jokes" on the tins which hold the hotpot ingredients from the fridge. I learnt something new (舔狗) today. The handsome guy with tattoos on his arms kindly explained that to me (didn't know his name as he did not wear his name tag). Another handsome guy, Xiao Zhong, was also attentively attending to us.
The only downside was some food ordered through the QR code did not come, but when we told the servers, they were very helpful to get the dishes for us. Overall damage to the pocket was only $40 each (4 of us), very worth!
Nice soup base. The mutton is good but some ingredients like the crabmeat not fresh. There were some misunderstanding on the order but the staff Hao Wei helped to resolve. Hao wei is very patient and polite too! Will be back.
Friend brought us here and it's a great hot pot place. Loads of choices, frog and the fish were both great but they have a huge selection. Nice fresh products too and great beer! loved it
I’ve been here at very late night, but all staff are kind and all of the foods are fresh. Most important thing is the quality of soup, and it is really nice. I can choose the level of spicy.
Visited quite a few times, the waitress are always helpful. The food is pretty average but is well prepared.
The food here may taste strange to the uninitiated, but man is it GOOD. The staff are very friendly as well.
Tasty food and nice staff! Cool coconut drink
Great hot pot!!! Loved it!!! Very spicy if you order the spicy broth! Would go back. 😁
Best service & Super fresh seafood!
Enjoyed everytime I’m there
Very good service
Overall food is fresh & good quality for steamboat
Super super fresh and nice mala frog! It's a must try!!
Xiao la is extremely spicy. Go for mild if you're a 1st timer there.
Very good!!!
Not recommend.......Food is soso, but staff was unfriendly.
Good hotpot and service!
Taste is good. Price affordable.
Tasty! Delicious 😋
The service attitude is very good. The boss and waiters are very enthusiastic. It feels like there are few waiters and they are a bit busy. The dishes are very fresh. The sesame oil and sesame sauce are the best I have ever eaten in Singapore. The sesame oil is much more fragrant than other hot pots! The sesame paste is also thicker than other stores! Will eat here again
The environment is clean and hygienic. I ordered Sichuan red oil and fish maw chicken pot. The soup base was very good. The ingredients are a la carte, not many varieties and no crabs. The portion of ingredients is moderate, and the price is similar to Principal Feng’s Lahu, medium to high. The pig brains were too frozen and took a long time to cook. Now there is an event to give away a plate of hanging pork. You can try it
Authentic sichuan red oil pot, must try the kampong chicken soup, damn tasty! Ingridents are fresh and meat in thick slices, although there is not a wide selection.
Spicy lovers do ask for extra spicy as sichuan pot tends to be more numb than spicy.
Frozen black tofu is also good but skip the pig brains it's too frozen.
For the high price, I find an average mala steamboat shop.
Singapore’s bustling food court has another hot pot restaurant that I can’t help but check out!
This "Wudalang Old Hotpot" is really eye-catching. It actually has "new vegetarian dishes". It's the first time I've seen it. Hahaha. The cartoon image of the boss on the wall is also very interesting and very down-to-earth. The whole atmosphere is relaxed and pleasant.
The dishes are very fresh, and the chicken soup base is even more amazing, delicious and not salty. Paired with the store's special "Eagle Tea", it is simply a soul mate in the hot pot world! But remember to note the spiciness level when ordering. I ordered mild spiciness, and then added butter and chili to slowly bring out the spicy and fragrant taste.
The per capita price is about SGD 30, so it’s not an exaggeration to support the wall~ After eating, I couldn’t help but order the ice powder and rice cake, it was so delicious!
Hot pot lovers, come and give it a try. I especially recommend the vegetarian dishes and the overall atmosphere here. The price/performance ratio is really great!
The service is very good and the food tastes very good. I recommend friends to try it. I wish the boss a prosperous business.
Delicious taste, English available. The service staff is very good. The atmosphere is like being in China. Mostly Chinese people come to eat a lot.
This frog is awesome, the food is good, the service is enthusiastic, and the taste can be customized. It is suitable for one person to eat. Highly recommended.
If you don’t want to eat fish heads, you can also change to frogs. I ate three big ones per person. The meat bombs were so fresh. I felt like I was a frog with such a strong head when I was alive. After I was full, I jumped out directly. It was really amazing.
The service is good, the taste is authentic👍🏻, and the boss is also very enthusiastic.
A very good hot pot restaurant. The hot pot and lobster are also highly recommended. The taste is very good and the service is excellent. Even though we took it for a long time, we were not impatient. Brother Ah Hui was very attentive and thoughtful, paying attention to our needs and responding in a timely manner. Ask 👍
The service is very attentive
The pot bottom is very good and authentic, and the service attitude is very good and enthusiastic haha
