Xing Long Food Stall
Tried this zichar while walking through smith street hawker
$ ( $10-15 per pax)
Overall 8/10
Steamed fish head with hot bean sauce ($20) 8/10 - For $20, it’s really quite cheap. Song Fish head (Asian big head carp) was fresh, sauce was sweet but not overpowering, love the generous pork lard.
Cuttlefish Kang Kong ($12) 8.5/10 - Love their unique sauce, which taste abit like sambal + chilli crab. Delicious. The cuttlefish were huge too.
Steamed lala ($15) - 5/10 This was disappointing. Lala overcooked and had sand in it. Soup was good though, hope they improve.

Ordered their sweet and sour pork ribs, Song fish head, braised tofu and prawn rolls. Liked the pork ribs and prawn rolls. The tofu was surprising as there was no meat within at all, unlike other stalls.
The fish head had the distinct muddy smell but it went away if you ate the meat together with the sauce. There are a lot of little bones though so be careful when eating it.
Total cost for the above and 2 bowls of rice was $51 as at early Oct 2022.
Located in Chinatown food market, it is at a corner and they have many customers. Waiting time for food is about 15 minutes.
The steamed fish head with hot bean sauce was really good. It was big with lots of meat. Freshly steamed so it took a while. It goes really well with rice. The cuttlefish kang kong was also a good dish. The cuttlefish was big and they gave a generous amount of it. Highly recommend this stall!
Everything here taste a little too salty except for the steam lala. The size of the fish head has also became smaller so there isnt much collagen which is why this steam fish head was so popular. The hei zhor was the only saviour, well fried nicely seasoned and great big portion.
The steam fish is indeed yummy and the price is reasonable! Good for 2 to share
Fairly affordable and good for sharing. Sliced fish black bean sauce beehoon is a nice and tasty alternative to the usual rice and noodle dishes.
Have eaten at Xing Long quite a number of times. The steamed fish head is as good as before. However, the price has increased to $15. Still okay as quality is maintained. Fish head is fresh steamed with fermented soya beans coupled with chilli padi and cilantro. If you like pork lards, it is also added. They have other chi zhar dishes too. We try the 4 Seasons beans this time but find it a little bland in taste
Best steamed fish head among the numerous stalls here in my opinion. The braised tofu is also a must-order.
Wonderfully steamed tasty fishhead. Consistently good throughout the years. Reasonably priced.
Had their 排骨王. It was not too bad, above average but not the best I've tasted before.
I could smell the fragrance from far and decided to buy a Hor Fun and give it a shot. It was delicious.
Reasonably priced fish for 2-pax. Love the freshness.
Very nice!
Ox river, smooth egg fish fillet river...and lard residue👍👍👍👍👍
