Reviews of 詠春园 Spring Court Chinese Restaurant Singapore
First time here last weekend for a wedding lunch. The staff were all 💯 friendly, helpful, and efficient. They have valet parking available too which is a bonus. The ambience is nice with its rich history reflected indoors too. The food was quite tasty and enjoyable. Thank you! 🙏🏻
Second time visiting spring court. Every item is good. Recommend coming here for chili crab than jumbo. Must order fried bun with chili crab, excellent combo.
Popiah gets a lil soggy after a while so recommend to eat right after serving.
Also 白果芋泥 is one of the best deserts
The food here is excellent and good value, with good ambience, our server Rika served us very well too! Will certainly come again, it's a family friendly restaurant we frequent...
Came here to celebrate birthday with lunch set menu on weekend. Food is good, traditional style, and service is attentive. Feeling nostalgic.
Food is nice, the service is good, and the staff Chen is very friendly ,,the food are delicious
Just had a wonderful CNY family reunion here. Despite a full house turn up at this restaurant, every dish served was excellent, and they're still able to maintain their great and friendly service. We just need to pay special compliments to the professionalism of that staff that start off the meal with a lively intro to yu-sheng dish that brings smiles to everyone. Kudos to the restaurant and staff to complete our great start to CNY!!
MARVELLOUS food with EXCELLENT service.
The service staff are very attentive, and it is very easy to get their attention.
Food wise... I think worth the price.
Expensive, NO DOUBT.
But yeah... great quality.
Ordered their set meals.
Averages about SGD95/pax (all in).
We came here for a CNY dinner celebration. This restaurant suitable for events. We were seated on the 3rd floor, which has a karaoke system. I could see that all the staff put in a lot of effort to create a nice dining experience for the patrons. The food was excellent and delicious. The restaurant is located just opposite Chinatown Point.
Definitely a traditional Chinese restaurant to visit.. food are good and most importantly their service make you feel at home. Will like to compliment Ms Sharine that taken care of our table, she is always with the warm smile when we came into the restaurant till the end. She will take care of what you need and look into all small details that you will feel very welcome in this restaurant. Thumb up and continue the good works!! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Lively traditional Chinese restaurant near Chinatown, pretty good service and a decent dim sum selection.
Last night we visited this restaurant to celebrate a family birthday. Based on their good reviews, we decided to give it a try, and they truly exceeded our expectations. Although the prices are a bit high, the portions are big, and the service is excellent. Thumbs up to Hovan and the aunty with short hair who served table 110 at 7pm. ✨
Friendly staff. He recommended us a traditional steam turbot with garlic and lotus leaf which was really yummy and fresh.
The food here is above average amongst expensive Chinese restaurants. Their popiah is very different and worth a try - it has prawns, fish paste (I think) and chicken, and feels quite meaty.
Claypot lamb is tender and well balanced by the water chestnuts.
Claypot tofu is good too - tofu is soft and silky.
Peking duck is standard, and I think it would be better if the meat had been stir fried in smaller pieces.
Red wine is good.
Service could be more attentive though - our orders were forgotten three or four times.
Nice place nice ambience….the place is good for big families and company events….food is nice and the service by staff, Rika is good…she’s is attentive and making sure that your tea is filled always
sherine was a fantastic server for our table! she was funny and attentive and really made sure all our food was served timely, and even made sure we got the best food pics before distributing indiv plates!
Chose here for my solemnisation and wedding dinner. The overall ambiance and food was excellent and delicious. Part time service staff was superb, a big shout out to GAO BO and HILTON YEE who took care of the whole event, made sure everything is alright. A big thank you specially to Hilton who put in a lot of effort & tried to accommodate our requests and help to make all the arrangement. You guys are awesome, thank you again!
Been a while since I came back and the dishes were still as good. Even the soup tasted as smooth too !
Wife and I decided to finally visit this iconic restaurant today. Feels like stepping into a little time capsule the moment you entered the restaurant; greeted by those old ShangHai music and bustling noise from the dinners. We ordered this recommend dishes, steam cabbage with scallop, roast chicken with minced prawn, popiah and crispy yam seafood bowl…(lol, English names don't do justice to the dishes’ auspicious Chinese names). Food tasted great with loads of fresh ingredients, clean profile and right about of spices you expect when dining in a fine Cantonese restaurant. Service was on par with the food, speedy and responsive, our tea cup was nvr empty. (btw, their lychee Long Jing tea was really nice too!)
Price is on the higher end but was not unexpected. Frankly this place can be classified as a one michillen star restaurant.
Planning next trip already!
food is tasty and traditional. Popular amongst those who miss old school nostalgic way of cooking. We ordered the set and it was generally tasty - especially the suckling pig. Skin was crispy and pork was tasty. The staff are professional and attentive. We booked a private room for a celebration and they were attentive. Parking is an issue though as they don't have lots and you'll need to park at Chinatown point and walk over
Excellent service by Hilton! Well-mannered and extraordinary service, going the extra mile to make sure our lunch is comfortable. Also showed us the rooms with detailed explaination and to plan for our wedding. This place is amazing, food is delicious and the service makes me want to come back again.
First time dining here. It was a great experience! Service was very prompt. All dishes were a hit with everyone. Roasted duck skin was crispy and meat tender. The double boiled soup was delicious. The crab meat beehoon was very flavourful. We also tried their yam ring, claypot tofu, cold dish, popiah & seafood meesua.
A very nice chinese restaurant for big group. Nice food, great services and atmosphere.
My favorite dish is Tofu Scallop and Chilli Crab with Fried Bun!
Recommend to book in advance before coming.
Decent food. Had peking duck which cane with a delicious pancake wrap. Salt and pepper fried duck 2-way is also very tasty.
Extremely busy atmosphere. May end waiting a bit for food to come.
Only a few servers can speak English.
Need to reserve.
Well worth the visit as a tourist! The food is definitely much higher quality Chinese food than what I’ve had in the US. The plate sizes are better geared towards ordering as a group and sharing. We were well taken care of. The tea was regularly refilled and chef accommodated a shell fish allergy by exchanging shrimp for chicken. We were hoping to try the ice cream, but they were sadly out.
An institution in Singapore, Spring Court has been feeding our bellies for nearly a century. My family has been visiting this restaurant even when it was in its original location in East Coast. Located centrally in town and it’s just opposite Chinatown mrt (Chinatown Point). Valet parking is also available or you can park at the opposite Chinatown Point car park.
We ordered their very popular popiah, yam ring, Liu sa bao and yam paste. The popiah was so good and very freshly made, chock full of ingredients. The yam ring was fried to a crisp and it did not feel oily at all. The staff service was very good and attentive as usual.
If I really need to be nitpicking, i just felt the restaurant was a little warm as we were seated near the window; but I wasn’t too bothered with it as the air conditioning was just right, as any colder, our food would get cold very fast and wouldn’t taste as good.
I am definitely looking forward to visiting the restaurant again for many years to come.
Great experience and nice food. Portion size is good. Staff is friendly and helpful. Presentation of food is retro. Will come again! 👍🏻👍🏻
Booked a celebration party for lunch. Ops manager Ken was very helpful and helped us customise the menu and was very accommodating. The food was excellent and quantity was adequate. The service staff attending to our party were also cheerful and attentive. The room was also decorated with caligraphic banners of good tidings. Glad we had our celebrations there.
Food is good and service staffs are very friendly.
Would recommend trying their Suckling pig.
My family and I have been here a number of times but our first time ordering these dishes. Definitely made the right choices.
The Shrimp Chee Cheong Fun was surprisingly delicious and crunchy, fillings are wrapped inside a crispy deep fried batter similar to the Kueh Pie Tee cups.
The Siew Mai fillings were really tasty.
Another surprise for us was the Fried Carrot Cake with beansprouts, egg, chilli in XO sauce. A good combination of ingredients.
We loved the crispy skin on the Peking Duck. The meat was ok. What needed some work on qas the carving of the duck skin. The male staff desecrated the duck with his lack of carving skills.
The Osmanthus Jelly with Wolfberries and freshly cut Rock Melon was normal.
Service was good as usual. Service staff were friendly.
Overall, a very enjoyable lunch. Very deserving of a 4☆. Would have rated a 5 ☆ if carving was done to perfection.
Very satisfying and delicious meal at Spring Court for a birthday celebration! Enjoyed the food (braised lobster - tasty & well cooked, roasted chicken with minced prawn - fragrant aftertaste, braised beehoon with fresh crabmeat - good wok hey) and the great service by Sherine who was able to provide good recommendations for us to make our decision on our orders. Also shoutout to the aunty taking care of our table (didn’t manage to get her name) who was very attentive keeping our teacups full 🥰
I was intrigued by its status of being the oldest Chinese restaurant in Singapore, for this reason, I decided to celebrate my birthday here. I am of Cantonese background and Spring Court does live up to its name as every dish brings back the nostalgic flavours my late grandmother used to feed me with.
I just wanted to add that the service provided was impeccable. The service team was led by Ms Sherine Chong and the rest did an amazing job despite being full house that night. Ms Sherine Chong checked up on us periodically to ensure everything was in order and to our satisfactory. They were kind enough to offer us a complementary lotus bun and red bean soup after finding out that it's a birthday celebration.
Definitely a place I'd return for more yummy Cantonese food!

consecutively for 2 years in July, it's been the same request to celebrate my partner and mum's birthday at this place. he loves the cold platter here and that is so hard to find in chinese restaurants in these days. every dishes here is our family favorite.
I recently dined at this restaurant, and I was blown away by the exceptional service provided by Sherine and her team. Despite the restaurant being busy, Sherine was incredibly attentive and made sure our dining experience was top-notch.
One standout moment was when Sherine surprised us with complimentary desserts. It's not every day you receive such a delightful gesture from a restaurant, and it truly added to the overall enjoyment of our meal.
The food was delicious, and the ambiance was perfect for a great dining experience. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for both fantastic food and outstanding service. Sherine and her team go above and beyond to make your visit memorable. We will definitely be returning!
Celebrate Mother’s Day. Good food, great ambience, specially Roma’s service is excellent!
This is our 2nd time celebrating birthday in Spring Court. This round is for myself and cousin celebrating together. We love all the food and service was excellent.
The manager, Ken and waitress, Hui Lan served our table with utmost sincerity.
This place has simple hidden charm.. and we will definitely re-visit again!
Great meal with excellent service!!
The manager, Ms Sherine was exceptionally attentive to my mother's and my dietary restrictions. With an allergy to prawns, the manager reconfirmed what my requests were. The roast duck is succluent, tender and melts in your mouth, a highly recommended dish. The other dishes are equally up to the mark. All in all a lovely family dinner. 5 stars for the service and food - kudos to SPRING COURT
Had my birthday celebration yesterday and the staff have made a beautiful plating. They also mentioned that this is the first time they have did this and we feel it is very pretty. Food is nice especially the popiah. But most importantly, the staff there are very nice. :) This is already my second time going there. First is their dim sum during noon time. The service are nice too!
Enjoyed our YuanXiao Lunch together. We ordered the famous Peking Duck, Fortune Chicken, ShuangBao Canopy, Pork Ribs, and Yam Ring. All delectable, well cooked and sumptuous at every bite.
The food is generally good and delicious!
Their signature popiah is nice; carrot cake is uniquely yummy; Cheong fan is also special with crispy insides; vege prawn dumpling is fresh; roasted chicken with minced prawn is savoury and compliments each other well; bee Hoon with crab meat is nicely done and taste wonderful!
We came for team lunch. Nice restaurant with clean space. Food was delicious. Melly Lim the server was friendly :)
We had an enjoyable lunch here on a Sunday with 10 pax. The food, service and ambience are all awesome!
The foods were nice and service was great, well done, keep it up.
Really an institution, great ambiance, and service from Hui Lan and Xiao Xuan :’) always attentive to us. Food is guaranteed to be good, we only tried a few items for lunch and is already impressed
Great food as always, but ambience can be better. Seat covers look a bit dirty.
Spring Court is located in a 4-storey heritage shophouse with an elevator at 52-56 Upper Cross Street.
The first Ale Carte dish order for Chinese New Year Day 2 is Lobster Coldcut Platter was ok with lobster dressing,
but the stir fried kai lan with garlic and
stir fried scallop with broccoli was disappointment as it almost boil the vegetable and put it on the plate without any dressing, thus had plenty of left over.
We also had not taste their popular dish to sold out spring roll and not stock for crispy roasted duck and peking duck.
The teo chew steam "Soon Hock" fish was fresh but missing certain taste bud.
Overall score is 60 / 100.
Food is very good both tim sum and the ala carte. The popiah, roasted pork and pork trotters in vinegar must try. Service very prompt and attentive. Ambience is very nice and spacious. I have not been disappointed with the quality and taste of the food.
Was here to celebrate my mom bday, everything was great and the staff name poh heng was exceptional good service! will definitely come back again!
Very nice ambient and staff was very attentive and accommodating. Recommended the dishes to us! Staff name is Poh Heng.
Decent place for families to come and have a meal! Huang Yao was able to serve my family promptly, overall we enjoyed the experience here. Will come back again when we would want to have Chinese cuisine for a family gathering.
food tastes amazing, portions are huge, great atmosphere for chinese new year! staff member Sherine is especially helpful and friendly, she made the entire experience at spring court even better.
Rustic, old school establishment. Friendly and efficient staff. Nothing fancy yet heartwarming. Loved the fried mee sua and its various dim sum. Must order for din sum would be the deep fried spring roll with prawns wrapped in cheong fun. So good.
The food came quick and looks really good.
Encountered hiccup on my reservation through hungrygowhere, their system didn't register. But was able to squeeze out a table for us. Tried their dim sum for the 1st time. Also ordered their signature popiah, it was larger than usual ones you find normally. But it's after all restaurant price. Had the usual suspects for dim sum. Waiting time was a tad long as they probably steamed in batches so when they are served, all came together. I would say the dim sum fare were all quite decent, nothing outstanding worth noting.
Rika's service was excellent. She offer to help us take photos before the meal. The food are nice and huge in portion. Highly recommend.
Big portions and old-school 70's tasting food. None of those fusion style. Prompt service and dishes served very quickly one after another which I would have preferred maybe slow down just a bit. Priced just slightly below hotel restaurants but not exactly cheap either.
Great service. The Garupa fish is crispy and fresh. Cosy ambience in a place with a rich heritage. Music reminds us of the classic time back in the nostalgic 50s and 60s of Singapore.
Must order the signature dishes, including the Hor Fun, prawn in garlic and more. Ask for recommendations from the staff.
Eric was very attentive and quick in attending to us and for giving us his recommendations. Food is very delicious and big portion, must try the chilli crab!!
Was celebrating my father-in-law”s birthday on the 05/05/23 and he loved this venue so we gave him a celebration, this day we get excellent service provided by staff SHERIME,AUNTIE WAI GEK AND KEN.Will definitely return back again.
Loved it. Food was exemplary. Service too. Only found that the fried yam bowl was too oily. But apart from that everything was great!
Good ambience, good service. Had a wonderful time with my family here! Joseph, one of the staff, was very friendly and helpful!
Service standard was off the roof. Truly appreciate the service from the staff. A fantastic place to have a traditional Chinese celebratory dinner. Advised to have reservation.
Restaurant has a very nice atmosphere. Food was delicious, although was a little salty. Their signature lychee oolong tea was good. Rika was friendly and served us well. They also let us park our baby stroller next to our table.
Waiting time for popiah is 1-1.5 hr long.
Food was served fast though
Rika is so good and polite ! We had dim sum, cong bak bao and popia. All delicious!
Our first time here, the foods are amazing, service is excellent!
Spectacular service. The mango chicken tarts were delicious.
Really enjoyed our lunch here. It was a great experience. The ambience harps back to its origins. All tables were occupied by locals. We were made to feel very welcome by our hostess Sherine who took time to explain any items on the menu we were not sure of. A definite must go to place to experience dim sum in Singapore.
The ingredients are fresh! I ordered oil-soaked bamboo shoot shell fish, hundred-flower chicken, sweet and sour pork, Yi noodles, and wolfberry leaves, all very good! ! The service attitude of the waiters is also very good, and the environment and quietness are very good!
The service was excellent. The restaurant is very comfortable.
The mini Buddha Jumps Over the Wall is delicious, the pancakes are a must-try, and the shrimp and fruit sticks are worth trying. The coconut almond tea is delicious.
The smooth porridge with shredded duck and preserved eggs tastes very good, surpassing Taiwan’s porridge.
The service staff has a great attitude! Highly recommend this restaurant!
It’s really delicious! The food is served quickly, fresh and plentiful. The signature dish shark's fin and original dishes taste really good, we all ordered them! The environment in the store is very comfortable and the service is excellent. We all had a great time!
Food abot too oily. Some abut salty too. Hope can be improved. Else, environment and taste of food is great. Services is great too.
Thanks Carie for her great services for table 105.
The food are really good. Authentic Cantonese dishes yet good Hokkien popian! The roast pig skin was crispy and taste great! Must try. But you need more people to enjoy this dish.
Came by for lunch, although restaurant was packed to the brim, service was very punctual and the service staff Rika was very detailed and thoughtful in her service. Would definitely recommend to come by to eat as food was also delicious
Brought here for my mum on mother's day. Rika and Joseph are very helpful and did their best to make the environment comfortable. My mum isn't good with English and they are able to converse well in Chinese. Pleasant meal and great service. Will be coming back. Do bring a crowd. Food portions are for groups.
Food was good ,service was aawesome, although some dishes were mess up . The waiter changed for us immediately.
