Reviews of Bike School Asia Pte. Ltd.
I did my bike fit here for a new road bike. The equipment and software used made me feel like I was being fitted up as a pro cyclist. There were options to choose the purpose of the fit (iirc comfort/sport/pro?) depending on your objective. Bike fitters Mel and Mao were very friendly yet professional and made me feel comfortable throughout the fit. They identified some of the less ideal cycling patterns that I had (how I pedal, knee movements, sitting position, practically every aspect of being on the bike), and also gave lots of tips specific to me to help me improve my riding efficiency and posture (so i can be faster than my friends). The final report detailed all the adjustments made and also recommendations from Mel and Mao on the bike parts that I should consider for my bike to fit me best. Boss Kenneth was also around and even though he was not the fitter and was busy with other work, he stepped in and provided helpful advice on the bike fitting software. He was also very accommodating during the whole session to ensure that we were all comfortable.
Would highly recommend to come here for your bike fit. The unofficial resident cat will welcome you with open paws, making you feel right at home and well taken care of.
I attended the 6-day Certified Bike Mechanic course which exceeded all expectations. Kenneth, the owner of the school, is not only extremely knowledgeable and passionate about bikes, he wants you to be too! His theory sessions are relatively short but very informative, covering a bit of history and showing the different standards. A big part of each day is spent hands on, where Kenneth shows how to expertly remove, overhaul and re-install parts, and then the participants try it on their own. Kenneth is always on hand for help, advice or even just encouragement. He is the kind of teacher I wish I'd had in my school days: extremely knowledgeable, eager to transmit his knowledge, passionate, patient and wise.
The course is worth it for everyone who is passionate about bikes, any kind of bike. It brings out skills and interests you didn't know you had - I was never keen on wheel building for example, after some disastrous attempts to true wheels when I was young. Here, we learned in just one day how to do it and how enjoyable it can be; it's definitely something I want to explore further.
I cannot recommend this course and the school in general enough.
