I had first joined Mr Wong’s classes when I was in Secondary 1, back in 2015, and my improvement in English has been evident ever since. Due to his constantly progressive teaching methodologies and not to mention, his engaging classes, I could always gain an edge over most of my classmates in terms of the command of the language. This “edge” that I have gained has proven to be effective as I was able to clinch the top few spots for English amongst the entire cohort in the Lower Secondary. Mr Wong is extremely patient in his teaching and he never fails to adopt an inclusive culture as he frequently asks for our opinions on ways to better cater to our needs. Besides his aptitude for teaching, an added bonus is the notes he painstakingly prepares for us every week - which include Linguistics, Essay writing and Oral. With due credit to his efficacious teaching, I am still doing well in English up till now and I truly believe that if Mr Wong were to be given sufficient time with a student, he/she will surely be able to improve and achieve consistent stellar results for the subject.

Mr Wong taught me when I was in Secondary 4 up till the end of my A levels. Not only was he committed to giving his students the best education possible, he also acted as a mentor to his students in times of need, often offering them good advice to help them realise their fullest potential. His notes are current and are highly informative, thereby giving students effective examples and ideas to boost their essay writing skills. He pushes his students way past their limit, leading to a remarkable number of them accomplishing results that they felt was once unthinkable. Under him, I myself improved by 3 grades for my General Paper Subject.

Mr Wong's teaching method is very different from my teacher’s. He gave us tests on our vocabulary to improve the quality of our essays. Additionally, Mr Wong will engage the class in case studies of global events happening then such as ISIS etc. He also analyze different essay topics, with case studies, to suit the needs of his students. Mr Wong also incorporated the different topics together to better prepare his students for higher level questions such as bringing together science and terrorism, science and environment etc. His teaching method is extremely professional and he covers more than sufficient information for every topic. Mr Wong is a dedicated tutor who focuses on ensuring his students are ready for their exams. He is also very caring towards the wellbeing of his students and up till today, he still tirelessly give advice to us Wong Zheng Heng NYJC

***E to A in 3 months for GP*** I joined Mr Wong’s GP tuition fairly late. It was around the end of July, just a short 3-4 months before A level. At that point in time I had just scored an E grade in the recent CT2 exam in school and was quite worried because As was just round the corner. Luckily I joined Mr Wong’s tuition which helped me attain an A grade in the recent A level examination. Mr Wong’s focus on linguistic skills to tackle the various comprehension questions were extremely helpful. These skills are not taught in school and if mastered well you will definitely ace your paper 2. Armed with such skills, I was able to attempt them systematically using Mr Wong’s method which made answering them easier. Moreover, Mr Wong’s AQ pack is really useful. Not only did it help me when crafting my AQ responses it is also applicable for essay writings. To save time, he would underline the key points from the lengthy passages and for someone like me who had an extremely short runway, this was pretty much a lifesaver. Furthermore, Mr Wong’s model essays and class materials to prep us for paper 1 were really helpful. They were all done in-house so there’s no way you’ll be able to get them outside. The essays and relevant extra articles are clear and concise with a plethora of vocabulary for me to pick up. And considering the fact that I joined the class so late, I am really grateful for Mr Wong’s dedication in helping each and everyone of us to excel. Many of the key topics for Paper 1 were covered in class in the first half of the year and needless to say I missed it. Not only did Mr Wong prepare these notes and essays for me he also went through my school essays with me. I am really thankful for the extra help because I really needed it. Lastly, Mr Wong is more than a teacher and always goes beyond the call of duty. Even after completing my As, he is still my higher ed and career guidance mentor. I am just really glad that I stumbled upon this tuition centre that helped me turn things around in a short span of a few months from an E to an A. Unlike your usual tuition centres, it does not simply revolve around achieving distinctions but it also incorporates space for personal growth.

Mr Wong is a very dedicated teacher. He commits himself to his students and is determined to improve our grades, regardless of the amount of time it takes. His notes are tremendous, they are precise and full of content that we can use for our exams. Aside from that, he also provides us with model essays that implement the new vocabulary that he teaches us all the time. He also helps us with comprehension by teaching us linguistic skills and his AQ packs are very useful for attempting the AQ. My GP grade jumped from an S grade to an A for my A levels. Mr Wong Goes beyond the call of duty and I see him as not only my tutor but also my mentor,

Mr Wong's dedication and commitment is so so great! follows up closely with my Sec 3 son and his lessons are interesting too! What's most important is he makes my son think deeper in terms of content which then leads to skills' writing....so much to learn from you....Kudos to you Mr Wong!

I first joined Mr Wong in late march 2015, the same year in which I was taking my ‘O’ levels, I was struggling with the monthly English common tests in school, frequently obtaining only a C5 or a C6 grade. The first day I stepped into his class was like an enlightenment as he helped me understand what I had been doing wrong the entire time, His meticulous focus on global issues, critical thinking and current affairs, topics that neither my teachers nor previous tutors ever taught, was the key to me excelling whilst writing Argumentative or Discursive essays. On the flipside, his imparting flamboyant vocabulary and adjectives assisted me during my final examinations where I tackled a descriptive essay, a risky decision on my part but when I received my results I knew it was worth it. The skills and knowledge he provided me with were not only useful for English, but also gave me an advantage for subjects like History, Social studies and Geography. Mr wong has helped me tremendously and I improved from a C5 to an A1 in the short span of 7 months. If it were not for him, I doubt I would have ever come close.

I joined The Rationale Thinking Learning Centre in 2015, at a time when my English was middling - a B4 at best. Through the teacher's revolutionary and unconventional teaching methods, I was able to obtain a distinction at the 'O' level examinations in 2016. I continued to study under the teacher for my pre-university years, finishing near the top of my cohort in both years for General Paper. With good results, I got into the LL.B. programme of the National University of Singapore, and I have the teacher to thank for his hard work and belief in me. Thank you TRT and Mr Edwin Wong !

Out of all the ENG/GP tutors that i have went to, Mr Wong is the tutor that managed to help me with my eng during O'levels by pulling my pitiful borderline C6 to a B3 in the span pf 6 months (joined late as was sourcing for tutors). He has unique style of teaching thus making it easier for me to know how to ans comprehension and essay ques as compared to the school's teaching method which is just reading off the ans script and expecting students to understand where they went wrong. After going JC, he also is able to teach the key essentials and go straight to the point regarding GP essay topics so that we know what to incoporate into our essay unlike my JC lecturers who just beat around the bush and not much was taught to us Furthermore all of his notes have been beautifully summerized and made easy for ppl like me ,whose grasp of eng is pitiful, to understand and apply
