Tucked in a quiet corner of Serangoon, yet very accessible via public transport, JD Studio does not have the glamour and glitz of larger spa facilities. Indeed the facilities here are minimal, because the establishment focuses on the treatment service itself, rather than complementary amenities which no one would need to use anyway. I would surmise that the clientele come for their massage, are refreshed and rejuvenated and then leave to go about their daily work. Proprietor and masseur Joseph is a presentable, well-mannered young man whose mission is to serve his massage clients well. He is direct and straightforward, yet courteously respectful of his customers. He patiently assesses the conditions of his first-time customers (like me) before discussing the treatment options available. Throughout the massage, he checks in on customer's comfort, temperature of the room (can be quite chilly) and the strength and pressure of the massage. Then he adjusts accordingly. His techniques are practised and professional, his touch firm and deliberate. I dislike masseurs who use their own body weight and their elbows and forearms to press down hard on delicate body parts. I bruise easily and often wind up looking abused the morning after. Joseph does none of that, rather relying on his fingertips to feel the knots and tender spots and applying the correct pressure, easing back when he feels me flinching. Hours after my session my whole body feels relaxed and soothed, instead of bruised and tender. As he finishes each section of the body, he conscientiously wiped down, so that you don't feel oily or sticky at the end of the massage. Nice touch! Joseph's rates are not the cheapest you would find, but for the personalised, customised and professional treatment and friendly service, he is well worth a second or third visit.

Joseph is a very polite, skilful and knowledgeable masseur who tailors his massages to suit the needs and preference of his customers. I've never quite met a masseur like him who possesses an impressive knowledge of massage techniques and effortlessly applies a combination of them to alleviate whatever sore spots I had. Honestly one of, if not the best massage I've ever had. Feeling ten pounds lighter and infinitely happier! Highly recommended! :)

I’ve been to JD studio regularly for massage for more than 7 years now. Joseph applies deep tissue and sports massage techniques that are highly effective in relieving tired body and leg muscles. I’ve seen him to sort out stiff necks, back aches and leg soreness due to overwork. I’ve been to many massage places before I found JD studio. Prices are very slightly higher but I get my problem areas fixed usually in one session. I find no reason to go elsewhere. I just finished another massage session. Also, he doesn’t promote any packages 👍🏻 Thank you Joseph.

Thank you Joseph for a very unique massage experience! He’s naturally gifted and is very intuitive with his massages. A rare find and definitely gonna be my go- to masseur from now.

Excellent treatment by owner Joseph to fix my right lower back pain! He is extremely passionate, helpful and knowledgeable about his craft. Do approach him for your muscle soreness or tightness issues. 5 stars!

Joseph is my life saviour whenever I need to relieve the muscular strains I had from my running, climbing and trekking activities that doesn’t want to go away on its own. He has always been able to pinpoint where the cause of the strain is & relieve it after one session. He has also provided the proper advices to a friend of mine whose ankle is not healing at all when I appeal to him for help. I am one who does not react well to pain. Joseph knows and will slowly apply the right pressure until I dun really feel it anymore. The shop is not big but is cosy and has a relaxing atmosphere.
