Reviews of Yunomori Onsen & Spa
For those who are giving low rates and complaining about hygiene, do visit other onsens in Singapore for comparison. I think Yunomori is not the cleanest but I've seen worse in SG. I absolutely love friendliness, care and customer service at Yunomori. And some amazing masseuses, such as Fei and Linda. The food is also good (not best for Japanese standards though) but some nice basic items. The prices are reasonable in my opinion, again I've seen worse and more expensive. I've been going every month past 4 years and they do change here and there chairs, brushes, fans and so on. Once I complained about dirty water and it was resolved. Yes, they do need to close it down and completely renovate ( as most of the buildings in Singapore 🤣 but surely for now, it is one of the most reasonable for what you pay what you get 😬 enjoy everyone!
Excellent experience. Feels like in Japan for the onset experience.
Overall the place is quite small, smaller then my expectation but the onsen was good.
You have the remove shoes before heading to the reception. The receptionist will then collect the key from you can pass you another key for the locker in the changing room.
Upon entering the changing room, you can choose the yukata and the belt. Also you will be given two towels. Do note to keep them well if you want to bath again after eating.
There are 5 baths inside the onset area. It’s quite small compared to my experience in Japan. But good enough for people just want to enjoy bathing. The steaming room was very hot and full is steam, cannot really see what’s inside but it was good to open the pores. You can bring a facial masks inside to put on your face. But be careful not to drip the essence into the pool. I like to do it in the steaming room, while my pores are opening wide haha
The cold bath is good right after the steaming. All the pores immediate closed and sealed. My skin was so smooth and radiance right after the onsen.
The cafe has wide selection of Japanese food. But it’s quite pricy. I had a bottle of Mille and a bow of soba noodle. It was refreshing. Next to the cafe, there is a renting area. There are some big coaches to lay down and relax.
The public area is lacking. So it’s better only to come to enjoy the onsen only.
Love the 1-for-1 onsen on Monday to Thursdays! The cafe offers a variety of decent Japanese food. I have visited here numerous times with friends, family and loved ones and it’s always a relaxing treat! Beside the cafe there’s a quiet ambient room, dimmed lights and also many comfortable couches with blankets for people to relax after a nice massage or soak.
The masseuses here are very skilled with the Thai style massage being thais themselves. Sometimes it’s hard getting a Thai massage slot as the service is popular here.
We often order the onsen tamago here and the oden set if it is available. The chasu is also good though a bit fatty, but tasty! The chicken kaarage is also popular and often ordered when we visit. However, the nacho cheese fries are too much! The shoe string fries are covered in too much cheese it’s cloying. I’ll rather they leave the cheese aside and let customers decide how much they want to drizzle on their shoe string fries.
The onsen is like a typical onsen in Japan and sometimes they offer seasonal onsen like a Sakura bath etc according to the Seasons. Too bad there’s no sauna on ladies’ side.
Great place for a relaxing bathing experience, will try their message. It's been highly recommended by friends.
Food is also not bad, atmospheres is fantastic.
This is a good place to take break from your normal work and home hours. They have Sauna, Hot Steam, Onsen, and different kind of baths.
You have to be naked before taking a shower (which you take while sitting down), a locker is provided for your belongings.
If you've never tried a Yukata, this is he place to be.
Food is great and the Onsen is awesome
But not very cheap
Been here for about 5 times and I'm glad to say I was never disappointed. Staff are friendly and welcoming, ambience is great. The Onsen pools are relaxing and at a comfortable temperature. Though I do miss the milk candies & tea that they provided for the customers during their first few weeks when they started. It is recommended to call before going down as at times some pools are down for maintenance but it's not revealed in their website. Overall a good spend of time and money!
A very relaxing place with affordable price for the onsen and the cafe. Would highly recommend trying it once. However you do need to get butt naked if you are uncomfortable they do have disposal underwear
Had 90 mins aroma massage by Nancy! I enjoyed the massage relieve by knots and ache, will look for her when I go for massage
Staff are very friendly and professional. Helped me out through the whole way as it was my first time visiting the establishment. I went in for a 60min Thai massage. The masseuse made sure I was at ease before, during and after the massage. She's super good and didn't show any signs of fatigue, very consistent with the strength (I asked for Medium strength).
Japanese style Onsen & Spa. You are not allowed to take photos in the Onsen & Spa area, but the foyer is fine.
There's props like umbrella, wooden geta etc at the foyer. You can take nice pictures with the green bamboo backdrop there too.
You get to pick the design of kimono inside the Onsen & Spa & you can head out to the foyer for some nice pictures.
They have several modern onsen baths like silk bath, jet bath, cold bath, Soda bath etc. Steam & Sauna room beside the onsen baths too.
There's a cafe inside the premise where they sell Japanese food like curry rice, Chawanmushi, nigiri, salad, rice bowl etc. You won't be hungry while enjoy a full day of Spa!
I highly recommend you to check this place out!
Nice place for soak and relax your muscles. The tonkatsu ramen is great and even better than the ramen I had at many Japanese restaurants.
For best experience, pre book in advance your massage session and on a weekday (non-peak). Best to save the experience for a special occasion. Onsen experience was great! Massage was above average. Cafe experience was looking to be good but unfortunately they had some items that are not available that I was looking forward to - cold brew w/ coconut. Will definitely come back 👍
Clean place, good ambience, friendly staff. Easy first timer experience. Good massager, got Fe help me with Thai massage and herbal compress. Super relaxing. Fell asleep few times during the massage. After massage complimentary warm ginger tea elevate the whole experience! Not crowded even weekend. Café got variety of food, love the resting lounge to chill around. Towel and Yukata, amenities provided. lost count of time and wanna stay here whole day. Buy some Japan alike / Zen time here !
With a entrance fee of $38 (excluding GST), you get to access 5 (ladies)/6 (gentlemen) bath pools, resting longue, and cafe with no time limit. Love the relaxing environment.
I had eaten their Curry Rice and onsen tamago, they were delicious. Didn't like the Sakura tea (season limited).
It was a surprisingly japanese experience, just with a shyer crowd who mostly put on the disposable underwear provided. There were 4 hot and 1 cold bath for the women and each had their own unique properties, making for a wholesome bathing experience. The rules on how to wear the yukata and bathing before entering the bath can be better enforced though as the experience might be daunting to Singaporeans who have never gone to Japan before. I loved the wide variety of yukata designs and matching obi, as well as the cafe which sold surprisingly decent and reasonably-priced food given they had a monopoly. Will be back:)
I liked the ambience of the place and enjoyed the different onsen pools. Food was decently priced and tasted good.
However, I have taken away 2 stars for the following reasons-
1. they allow kids here, so if you are really looking for peace and quiet there is a chance that kids may disrupt the quiet. This happened in the onsen area and resting area where kids suddenly laughed out loud etc
2. you have to join the queue with people who are entering the spa to return your ID tag and collect your shoe locker keys.
I was shocked that there is no separate counter for people exiting because even at hotels, you can check in and out at different counters! The queue was quite long with 5 to 6 parties ahead of me.. you can see the picture attached. (there are others waiting by the side whom I did not manage to squeeze into the photo)
I couldn't wait because I had to go off. I could tell that the girls were trying their best to clear the queue but the first girl I approached insisted that I join the queue.. saying that all counters are full. I told her I was in a rush but she did not care.
I had to repeatedly ask the other reception girls to let me go first because my settlement was very quick and was done under a minute and the queue was not moving. There were many people and they all had different bookings for massages and registration with their IC all took a lot of time. I joined
Suggest that the management prioritise people who are leaving because it really doesn't make sense for people leaving to queue behind so many people who were booking different massages/couple rooms etc.
Probably come back on a weekday to avoid kids/crowd.
Interesting to find an onsen just like the ones in Japan.
Onsen has multiple hot pools, a cold pool, a sauna and a steam room.
There is a resting room where you can relax / sleep on reclined seats and a small japanese cafe.
As other reviewers have pointed out, the queue management is not very good at this place. We made reservations two weeks earlier for a massage with Onsen. We had to do the onsen before the massage because we cannot go to the onsen after oil massage.
But we had to queue for the Onsen with all the walk-ins even though we made reservations earlier. This is quite the frustrating process that there is no priority for people who have reservations.
Otherwise, the onsen experience is good and we thoroughly enjoyed the massage.
Excellent place to unwind and relax.
Indoor onsen baths. Baths, showers and changing room are clean.
The cafe has a lot of food and drinks options (mostly japanese cafe food).
The (Thai) massage is top notch. I could just go there for their thai massage only...! My masseuse was very skilled and friendly.
There could be a bit of waiting time to check in or check out so one should not be in a hurry.
Unique Spa & Onsen in a convenient location. Very relaxing facilities and great staff.
A good place to unwind and have a quiet time at the lounge. The closest to onsen that I can get in Singapore when I miss Japan! The cafe serve decent food too! Even though it’s priced slightly on the high side, sometimes it’s worth 😂
The onsen is relaxing and hot enough, cold bath is very cold, take a dip after going into the hotter onsens for a tingling feeling on your skin. Prices is worth it, take note that food is chargeable for a decent amount. Yukata is cute. Everything is naked in the onsen thus no photos are allowed but it is as shown in their website.
Went on a thursday from 11am+ till 4pm and there were on average <10 people in the baths so there isnt any wait/crowd. Disposable undergarments are given for free if you request for them (most ladies would wear it). There were 5 different baths but 4 of them are of the same temperature and the last 1 is cold bath. Would be better if there’s more variation in the temperatures. Only 1 of the jet bath is stronger than the rest, but even then was not very shiok as a massage. If only there were jets for neck and shoulder too. 3 vanity stations were almost not enough when i was getting ready at 3pm+. Lounge was chill and quiet with many long individual couches so you can read/use phone/sleep there. Cafe food was alright, had tonkatsu ramen and the chashu were nice and thick. Overall a relaxing experience!
The local onsen to go to if you miss the real ones in Japan. Love their hot and cold pool. The ambience is amazing and really induces deep relaxation. Had some hit and miss experience with their massage service though. I hope they will stay open till 12am for those who come after work and a slow dinner.
Spacious tubs with different temperature and type of water. Great place to unwind and relax ones body.
Changing area and locker is clean, equipped with essentials like hairdryer, body lotion and comb.
Shower area provides shampoo, conditioner and body wash.
Can't beat the real onsen but great substitute conveniently located!
Very expensive but it's super relaxing if you time it right and visit them when they don't have a lot of people. Relax area is very pleasant. Food they sell is also not bad at all & lots of healthy options
My only issue is that their hot tubs are very lukewarm, all of them except cold baths only 38~39 degrees cecius so it takes a considerable amount of time inside to really heat up your body. Would be great if they had a higher temp option around 43 ~ 46
Had a great time here as usual. Nothing much has changed since arnd 1 yr ago (?). I like that the onsen temperature is not too hot, but just nice to soothe any body aches. It is also good for sleep and detoxify.
There r only 2 sleeping jets that work out of 4 or 5.
Admission fee has raised by abt 5 dollars. Still a good affordable alternative to korean jimjilbang/japanese onsen/taiwan 温泉 if you want to save on such overseas trips.
I find that the massage quality has declined. Tried the deep sleep head massage and it was meh. She was not even focusing on the head and I find the head massage to be not of value for the price point. My friend also fedback that her 30min massage was not good. The oil massage I had abt a yr ago was one of the best I had in sg, hence I am disappointed. Dun think I will sign up for the massage again.
I also find that the cafe food quality has dropped slightly. They changed their menu last week and I realised an uptick in prices by a few dollars. I could not locate the dish I ordered in the past that I miss. Tried ramen and eel fish rice. Would give it 3/5. I miss their old menu. Less variety but I think there was more QC.
Relaxation area is as humid/warm as before. Hope that they can install proper air con or have more portable air cons/dehumidifiers. Also realised that people there tend to chit chat (esp couples). Will appreciate it if staff can check in regularly. The sofa dun feel clean too.
Overall, definitely a place to spend time alone and hang out with ur loved ones. Would recommend to visit on wkday afternoons when there r less people. Makes a very big difference. Think next time I will bring work over to do in the day. (:
Easy booking, great service from check-in onwards, impressively well-maintained and clean. I had an excellent Thai massage that left me wanting another hour (at least!) and felt super refreshed after spending a few hours at the onsen. Onsen was clean and we'll organized and food was delicious. There is even a resting / mapping area! Can't wait to go back.
Honestly, way pricier than its value. Onsen baths include the bubble bath, the sleeping jet baths, the silk bath and the yunomori signature and the cold.
Baths are quite poorly maintained, steam room is quite dirty despite the refreshing lemongrass fragrance- spa uses strong smelling essential oils which masks the damp and unclean odour. Dressing room is very nice, showrr area is very clean. Love the indoor restaurant but the food is over priced as well..
I absolutely love this onsen place, and I actually prefer it over Spa1. The range of food and baths they offer is impressive, providing plenty of options to suit everyone's preferences. It's fantastic to have a cozy resting lounge available for those moments when you need a break from soaking in the baths. Moreover, the convenience of having a steam room right beside the baths is a definite plus.
Without a doubt, I highly recommend this place! I find myself constantly coming back, as it never fails to exceed my expectations and deliver a truly enjoyable experience.
My first visit to @yunomori_ag Onsen and it was so relaxing.
I spent almost two hours moving between the pools, sauna and steam rooms. It was very calming. The facilities are super clean.
I tried Yunomori signature bath, silk bath, Bubble bath, Jet bath, Hot bath, Cold bath, Steam room and Sauna room.
Definitely will come back again
Visited with 2 other friends :) First onsen experience and it’s quite cool they have 5 different bath tubs that serves different purpose. We spent about 3 hours there and didn’t dine there because the price is a little on the high side.
Tubs are too hot and too cold for me. My body couldn’t take the heat after soaking for more than 15 mins and I did observe increased in heart rate which caused giddiness. Good thing I went with friends and wasn’t alone.
Would be great if there are staff coming in to check every 30 mins to ensure someone hasn’t fainted from the heat 🤣
This was okay. 3/5 stars because the place started to get really packed and the pool area became so noisy, it was so hard to relax (went on a weekend afternoon). Because the pool area is enclosed and rather small, the sound bounces off the walls, you end up listening to all the aunties gossiping. Would probably only come back again during off peak hours with less people around. Service was rather non-existent, staff wasn’t good at giving instructions for first-timers (I would very much rather read the instructions if they were printed out). Service was only good at the cafeteria area, food was ok. Do not recommend using the hair oil at the vanity area because your hair will end up looking like a mop.
First time trying an Onsen in Singapore, and it exceeded expectations. Facilties are well maintained and clean. Good variety of onsen baths, sauna, and steam room. Staff is very pleasant as well. Great for relaxation and recovery.
Really a great place to relax. It’s not huge but has variety of baths and steam room for women’s side. Loved the lavender smell inside the steam room. It’s kept really tidy and clean. I was surprises how crowded it was even on weekday morning. But with the safe distancing involved, they keep the number of people to reasonable.
I checked out the cafe area but didn’t look too cozy or inviting. It would have been great if the floor was heated. But overall very satisfied. I am glad that I can experience Onsen in Singapore.
Great amenities and reasonably priced. Food is pretty good!
To be honest I love this place. Have been patronizing the spa and onsen since it's opening. Just a little discouraged and fedup with inconsiderate patrons. Speaking and laughing loudly above the water and behaving like they are the only ones around is disgusting behavior, and display lack of manners. I would appreciate if there were some signs to ask for a peaceful and calm environment. There is a sign at the entrance but I guess hyenas can't read
Great place other than the Singaporeans who come into the spa in groups and talk their heads off. Read the room and have some self awareness please. And the staff could do better at controlling the noise
Place could use a renovation as it is abit rundown. Cannot justify the price increase.
First time trying this onsen. Can walk in anytime and if you are first timer, just let the counter staff know and they will guide you. Toilets and shower areas are well kept. Provided nice yukata and disposable under garment so that you don't feel too 'exposed'. There are 2 hot onsens - Silk and Signature Yunomori Bath. One cold bath and one jet pool. One sauna room. Really enjoyed it and felt relaxed after the session. Will visit again.
Great experience! Female onsen area is clean and neat. There were about 5 pools and 1 steambath for the female area. There are signs that say each pool should be max 6 pax. Disposable bra and panty is provided if you don't wanna go bare entering the onsen. Helpful staff who guided us as it was our first time there. Also see the staff coming into the bath area to cleanup and tidy the place quite frequently.
Note: No makeup remover is provided, so have to bring your own. Hairtie is provided, can also request for shower cap. Only have 3 vanity tables so might need to wait to dry your hair if there are people.
Massage:
Went for the 90mins aroma oil therapy using Earth scent. Amazing massage by Amy. It's been a long time since I have a massage where the therapist knows what she's doing! She has the technique and knows what points to press without even putting much strength. It was a really relaxing session and i would definitely come back again. The couple room was spacious and clean and zen, and the temperature was just right. However the sound proofing here is not as good, expect some background noise and occasional talking coming from outside.
Love the atmosphere, love the food, love the onsen tubs variation! By far the most affordable and worthy experience thus far. If you are looking for a quick treat for yourself and doesn't want to spend much money, this is the best place! There is even a quiet lounge with comfy sofa beds to lay on and have some quiet time!
I visited yunomori onsen ever since the month it first opened in Singapore. It is an amazing Japanese onsen experience where you get to bathe in hot and cold bath, wear a yukata and drink coffee milk. However food prices have been going up ridiculously. I paid 12 bucks for karaage yesterday. Really? 12 bucks? Too expensive if you ask me.
The process was seamless. Beside the onsen, there is a steam and sauna room too! After the session, my friends and I headed to the cafe and chill. Tried their rockmelon ice cream and it was refreshing! After checking in at the counter, a tag was given which serves as a key to locker and keeping tabs on the food purchases. The bills was settled at the checkout.
Yunomori Onsen offers a delightful mix of baths that make for a truly rejuvenating experience. From traditional Japanese hot springs to modern hydrotherapy facilities, the variety of options ensures there's something for everyone. Whether you're seeking relaxation or therapeutic benefits, Yunomori Onsen is a fantastic choice for a soothing and invigorating escape.
1st Time here with the family. Great Onsen experience similar to shared baths in Japan that we frequent when we are overseas. Food is decent and great to have after the hot onsen.
Beer and fries were great!
For those who don't know, just remember to wait a while after eating before heading back into the onsen again.
I especially like the cold bath treatment for my muscle recovery as I do a sports and workout a lot.
Enjoyed the hot baths and the food served was decent. I didn't get the membership but heard food is 50% off for members. There's a quiet area where you can sleep and rest. Worth another visit.
The resting area next to the restaurant is too warm. It would be more comfortable to have cooler aircon. The ladies’ onsen is noisy due to inconsiderate people chatting loudly. Would be good if staff could remind these people to keep quiet. Otherwise all are good accept the above two points that needs improvement.
I love coming here and I come regularly but I’m a vegan and their menu is very deceiving as it says one of their bento boxes is vegan and then when I received it, it had egg in it. When I complained they said that it’s still vegan with egg. I didn’t receive the best service. The onsen itself is lovely otherwise. Just don’t trust the food menu if you dietary needs/allergies
The most expensive Yunomori in the world.. went to other countries.. I know I know.. SG is expensive... But compared to paying less than 15 bucks for the same thing in Thailand, You kind of feel stressed paying almost 50 bucks for using the Onsen...
BUT, it is clean, nice and chill, don't get me wrong.
Would recommend it, but only as a treat to yourself, maybe once a month.
Guess if it was cheaper it'd be super crowded..
Went on a Sat evening and it was not too crowded! Place was pretty clean and service was efficient as well. My favourites are the cold bath and steam room 💗
Love this place! But giving 4 stars because of the price. Price of food also getting higher
As a Japanese person, I like hot springs♨️.
When I lived in Japan, there was a hot spring facility nearby, so I went there every week.
Now that I'm a wife stationed in Singapore, I'm glad that there is a hot spring (artificial, but...) facility that I had given up on, so I occasionally go there to take a bath and a mist sauna.
Personally, I like carbonated springs and jacuzzi baths☺️✨
Before the coronavirus, everyone was bathing wearing disposable pants and bras, so it was more embarrassing to be completely naked, so I also wore them, but recently, the number of people who were completely naked has increased, and it was about 50-50, so I Like Japanese people, they bathe naked 😆✨
After bathing or during bathing, don't worry about your age❓ It's also a blissful time to wear a cute yukata and enjoy drinks and sweets ☺️✨
There is a relaxing space at the back of the restaurant (very difficult to see due to the glass door).
I feel safe because everyone is observing good manners and relaxing quietly, just like in Japan.
Recently, the price has gone up quite a bit, so I can only go there once in a while, but I hope the price will go down again 😆✨
You can actually find Japanese-style hot springs in Po County, which is very good
